Wired is an online and print magazine that reports primarily on the effects of technology in our culture. Established in the early 90’s, Wired covers a wide range of current issues to include arts, science, economics, and politics. Recent cultural phenomenon include a critical look at cybernetics, hacker culture, surveillance, telecommunications, warfare, intellectual property, gaming, software trends, privacy, health sciences and education to name a few.
This project requires research on a topic posted in Wired as a starting point. Choose from any interesting article (recent or archived) from either the online or print version for inspiration in constructing a time-based concept. In reading your article, look for any interesting ideas, facts or opinions for further exploration and development into a creative narrative.
Remember that this article should serve as a springboard to further research in both concept and visuals but is not intended to be a literal translation of the ideas expressed by the author. It will require additional research (both visual and conceptual) to further the design towards a final work.
Work will be done in groups of 2 with all documentation done in a blog your project through a series of pre-determined stages as outlined in the schedule.
